Nas is my favorite rapper, he changed the game with his music in my opinion. No one focused on using extensive vocabulary until he came in the game, no one was focused on metaphors or similes, or even cadence for that matter until he came in the game. His discography is one of the main foundations that made me become an artist. I remember when I was 13 and I was playing Tony Hawk Underground, beating levels with ease, then “The World is Yours” came on and I paused it immediately just to bang that track in the music menu like x10 straight. From Illmatic to Life’s Good, I’ve always found inspiration from his artistry.

Like I said previously in the “Thoughts about Hip Hop“, I am a huge 90’s and early 2000’s fan. I think back to that decade, I can definitely say for sure that my major influence were Tupac and Nas. Bone Thugs n Harmony were a huge influence as well. I remember trying to rap as fast as them when I wrote songs and could never do it, but I somehow could rap every single lyric of theirs. I’m pretty eclectic and all over the place from there. I listen to a bit of everything. Funny side note about me; I listen to more r and b than I do rap. It calms me down. Now I focus more on lyric artist to sharpen my own skill set.
